You lead the investigation. Spotlight does the research.

Turn your agent into an investigative system.

A portable skill file that gives your runtime a reporting methodology, an investigator and fact-checker loop, human review gates, and a case archive you can reuse.

Ch. 01 — What it does

How a case moves.

01
Lead
01
Lead

Start with a lead. Spotlight proposes the methodology before the research starts.

You approve the plan first. It can connect to OSINT Navigator and pull the best tooling for the job before the first cycle runs.

02
Cycles

The investigator works the lead. The fact-checker comes after each cycle.

One agent pushes the reporting forward. A second agent checks the claims, looks for contradictions, and flags what still does not hold.

03
Findings

Findings arrive with evidence attached.

Primary documents captured locally. Independent sourcing where possible. Disputes, weak points, and missing perspectives made explicit.

04
Review

You stay the editor at every gate.

You approve the methodology, review the findings, challenge weak points, and decide what deserves another cycle. Nothing clears the gate without a human decision.

05
Vault

When the case is solid, it becomes infrastructure for the next one.

Evidence stays archived, the case goes into your vault, and ongoing monitoring can feed new leads back into the workflow.

Ch. 02 — Integrations

End-to-end investigation workflow.

01 / 06
Agent runtimes
Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, OpenCode, Goose, Hermes, or local models. Use the runtime that fits the investigation.
02 / 06
Local and offline
Run sensitive investigations on local models, keep context on your machine, and avoid sending reporting data through third-party APIs when the case calls for it.
03 / 06
OSINT Navigator
Connects to OSINT Navigator to surface the best tooling for the task in front of you, not a generic list you still have to sort yourself.
04 / 06
Evidence archiving
Every source gets captured locally before it becomes evidence. Search and scraping are built into the workflow.
05 / 06
Monitoring
Attach a case to ongoing monitoring, then bring new leads back into the next reporting cycle.
06 / 06
Knowledge vault
Investigations get archived into an Obsidian vault you can search, reuse, and build on. Opt in to a parallel sensitive vault — same naming, -sensitive suffix — that only local-model sessions can query alongside the main one.

Ch. 04 — Work with me

Work with me.

I use Spotlight in my own reporting and in collaborative investigations with partner newsrooms. If you want to work with me around that system, these are the two ways in.
